Salesforce developed an online learning platform called Trailhead – the idea was it would be a free—and fun—way for anyone, at any education level, to learn Salesforce skills and land a job in this new tech era.
A modern, gamified training tool like Trailhead is needed today—learners take guided hands-on paths and put the in-demand skills learned into practice with real-life scenarios. Learning by doing.
The demand for the tech skills learned on Trailhead is growing more rapidly than ever. IDC notes Salesforce and its partners and customers will generate 3.3 million new jobs by 2022. According to Indeed, two of the top 10 best jobs of the future are in the Salesforce Economy―Salesforce Admin and Salesforce Developer. The average entry-level salary in the US for these roles? $95K.
These jobs are up for grabs today across the nation for anyone willing to learn the skills.
In September, Trailhead announced 1,000,000 learners on the Trailhead platform (doubling since last year).
Who is this community of 1M “Trailblazers” made up of? Hairdressers who have transitioned to VPs, moms re-entering the workforce, veterans creating companies.
Trailhead now includes learning trails for not only Salesforce but technology from companies like:
- Apple
- AWS
- IBM and
- Github.
Trails on soft skills from public speaking to practicing equality in the workplace are also widely popular.
Sarah Franklin, EVP and GM at Salesforce is the driving force behind Trailhead. Sarah has made it her personal mission to empower anyone – and everyone – to “skill up”. We’ll be talking more with her in the near future.
And by the way, it figures that Trailhead earned a coveted Cool Tool Award for Best Professional Skills Solution as part of The EdTech Awards 2019 from EdTech Digest. Learn more.
