Soundtrap is the first online music recording studio to work across all operating systems, Mac, iOS, Android, Windows and Chromebook, where music makers around the world can collaborate in an easy-to-use browser, cloud-based system. It has received an enthusiastic reaction from schools across the globe and today signs on more than 350 schools a week.
Music and podcasts can be started in the classroom on a laptop, and continued elsewhere on iPads, smartphones or other mobile devices. Soundtrap’s easy-to-use platform appeals to all levels of musical interest and ability, from K-12 through the higher education market.
In 2017, Soundtrap expanded its consumer and education solution to four new languages Spanish, French, German and Swedish reaching millions of new users. They also launched their solution in Australia and New Zealand where they have a strong following.
In 2017, Soundtrap also became the first online web tool that lets users import or export musical compositions or scores using MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) using only a browser. Not only can scores be imported into Soundtrap, but now Soundtrap-created musical compositions can be exported as scores simplifying the education process.
In December 2017, Soundtrap was acquired by Spotify – together they will continue to enhance the Soundtrap solution. More recently, in early 2019, Sountrap was honored as a Cool Tool Award Finalist for Best Arts, Music or Creative Solution as part of The EdTech Awards program.
