In today’s world, school districts seeking to prepare students for the workforce can work with Odysseyware to build a custom internship course to provide students with the digital content and support needed to prepare for internships, jobs, and careers.
Districts work with Odysseyware consultants to create their own Internship course selecting from a large library of standards-aligned, workplace lessons utilizing core, elective, and CTE content.
The course includes instructional support tools that allow students to progress at their own pace and receive assistance as they learn about interview preparation, workplace etiquette, and effective communication.
Direct instruction videos allow students to see first-hand what they might experience in realistic interviews or business meetings. After completing the course, students feel greater confidence in achieving their goals and handling business in various cultures or global markets.
Dr. Lupe Diaz, Executive Director for Miami-Dade School District in Florida, says “businesses continuously comment on our students’ awareness of appropriate workplace behaviors, and the fact that they have more experience than some of the adults in the workforce. Our students have well-developed resumes, based on what they learn in their classes, and they know how to handle themselves in an interview setting.”
With topics such as “Business Communications and Microsoft Office Basics,” the Odysseyware courses engage learners in pursuing personal interests and potential careers and supports districts in meeting their career readiness standards and ensure that business partners receive high-quality interns.
Odysseyware Courses were honored with a Cool Tool Award Finalist status in The EdTech Awards 2019 program.
