Edgenuity’s Pathblazer is a supplemental, online intervention program that helps move struggling learners up to grade-level proficiency in both math and reading. The program prescribes individualized learning pathways with fun, motivating content that addresses skill and concept gaps. Plus, Pathblazer is Common Core and state standards–aligned, so students aren’t just catching up, they are mastering standards.
With skills available for students from kindergarten to 8th grade, Edgenuity’s Pathblazer can easily provide students with the targeted instruction they need to close learning gaps, even at the foundational level.
Students begin with an adaptive screener to determine their grade level, then take a diagnostic pretest at that level to pinpoint their exact skill gaps. Based on the assessment data, each student automatically receives an individualized learning path that provides precisely the instruction that is needed, including any missing foundational skills or concepts.
With approximately 10,000 unique digital lessons, Pathblazer offers both breadth and depth of instructional value. All lessons are built on the gradual release of responsibility model to enhance a student’s self-efficacy and ownership of learning.
The student begins a lesson with engaging, dynamic direct instruction that teaches the skill or concept through video and animation delivered in a fun, friendly, conversational voice. Following direct instruction, the student practices the skill they were just taught via a variety of activities. Built in scaffolds, like hints, feedback based on answer choices, and reteaching, guide the student to competency while providing help and assistance when needed.
