Kahoot! is a game-based learning platform that makes it easy to create, share and play fun learning games or trivia quizzes in minutes. Winner of the Cool Tool Award for “Best New Product or Service” as part of The EdTech Awards 2020 from EdTech Digest, their ‘learners to leaders’ pedagogy is something touted by founder Morten Versvik.
Users can play Kahoot! on any mobile device or laptop with an internet connection. Kahoot! can be played through live games in a classroom setting or through challenges on our mobile app at the user’s own pace. This cool tool is used monthly by 50% of U.S. K-12 students and teachers and has been used by over 2 billion cumulative players all over the world.
In 2019, they announced that two new companies would be joining the Kahoot! family to broaden their offerings for teachers and parents. DragonBox is an award-winning creator of math apps and the acclaimed Poio app teaches children how to read. Together with DragonBox, and Poio, they will strive to provide the best learning experience available around the world, inside and outside the classroom.
And their recently announced partnerships with Google EDU, Microsoft EDU, and Amazon make classroom integration with Kahoot! even simpler for teachers. They are a Google for Education premier partner, and they recently launched on the new Chromebook App Hub. In addition, teachers will be able to assign Kahoot! challenges as homework to groups within Microsoft Teams.
