GetEdFunding (GEF) was created in response to the challenge of ever-tight budgets in K–12 education. That challenge remains. GetEdFunding can be thought of as a grant-finding wizard, dedicated to helping educators, schools, and institutions identify the funding to address those restrictive budgets.
GEF, which is sponsored by CDWG, is the first funding site focused solely on the education market and made free to educators. From a launch in 2012 with 700 grant and other opportunities in the database, the site has grown to some 5,400 opportunities for public and private preK–12 schools and districts; awards for outstanding professionals; grants for teachers, media specialists, and administrators; higher education institutions; and nonprofit organizations offering educational programs. Today, more than 62,000 users are registered on the site.
The site is managed by a full team of seasoned educators as researchers, writers, fact checkers, taggers, copy editors, and updaters, who expand, update, and monitor it daily. Users can conduct personalized searches by focus areas, themes and skills, and grade levels, as well as receive customized alerts. It also provides supplementary resources, such as helpful articles, videos, webinars, and success stories. In the years since its creation, the impact of GetEdFunding has expanded through a monthly Connections newsletter with more than 36,000 subscribers and a weekly Discover blog.
GetEdFunding has been recognized for its excellence, winning the Beacon Award from the Association of Educational Publishers in 2013 and an SIIA CoDIE award for Best Source for Library, Reference, or Education Resources in 2019. GetEdFunding is the Cool Tool Award Winner (2021) for “Best Research/Reference Tools Solution” as part of The EdTech Awards from EdTech Digest. Learn more.
