Edmentum’s Study Island is a customizable K–12 practice and assessment tool grounded in 20 years of curriculum expertise and research. Study Island launched in 2000 as a fun practice tool to help students translate classroom learning to success on state assessments. Since then, the program has grown into a rich platform with deep standards alignment and formative assessment tools for all 50 U.S. states and D.C.
As a combination of virtual and hybrid learning took hold this past year, Study Island is an ideal tool to help educators identify and mitigate gaps in proficiency and focus on essential standards. Recent findings validated by the Marzano research group indicate just 30 minutes of practice per subject weekly leads to growth.
Study Island covers all core subjects and several elective subjects offering over 600,000 items, including 14 different technology-enhanced item types. Its flexibility supports implementations for classroom assessment, test preparation, intervention support, and more. Practice in Study Island can be student-led, teacher-assigned, or conducted as a Group Session, where students participate in a live polling session using their own devices. Study Island features more than 20 fun, motivating games as built-in engagement.
Test Builder offers unparalleled flexibility, allowing educators to build and share assessments across their school or district. Additionally, fixed-form Benchmarks aligned to state blueprints provide more formalized assessment experiences to help students prepare for test day.
Each step of the way, their live data dashboard and robust reports give educators actionable data to drive instruction. For all of this, Study Island from Edmentum is the Cool Tool Award Winner (2021) for “Best Test Prep Solution” as part of The EdTech Awards from EdTech Digest. Learn more.
