A one-of-a-kind coding device, “//code.Node” combines real-world sensor inquiry, Blockly coding, and live data displays to drive computational thinking in STEM learning. With six interactive sensor inputs and four device outputs, it can measure and respond to phenomena using code created in SPARKvue or Capstone software.
Essential Coding to Learn, Fundamentals of Coding with the //code.Node is a student board book that teaches the fundamentals of coding and computational thinking using our “learn to code, code to learn” model. It includes five phenomena-based investigations that cover ten standards-based, coding and computational thinking concepts. In each activity, students begin by reading about a key coding concept and related science phenomena. Then they are asked to apply their knowledge in the “code to learn” section using the //code.Node and Blockly.
The Essential Coding to Learn Teacher Manual provides detailed step-by-step instructions, sample code, teacher tips, answer keys, and challenging questions that align with state and national science standards, as well as computer science standards. It includes five additional coding activities.
