Here’s a Learning Management System (LMS) designed specifically for financial literacy skills education. Complete with engaging, and timely content developed by financial literacy experts and communicators, Centsai Education allows high school students at all levels to build a strong foundation in financial skills.
Utilizing a scaffolded approach to learning with content aligned to the Council of Economic Education’s benchmarks, Centsai Education uses storytelling and out-of-box pre- and post-assessments to measure student outcomes.
Teachers’ lives are simplified by having access to ready-to-go curriculum, and the LMS is also flexible in allowing teachers to build their own courses and training materials. Course content includes topics relevant to high school students such as Earning Income, Buying Goods & Services, Using Credit, Saving, Financial Investing, Protecting and Insuring, and Behavioral Finance.
Centsai Education is the brainchild of Doria Lavagnino and Arindam Nag, both financial journalists who have written for the Wall Street Journal, Conde Nast, Reuters, and Dow Jones, among other publications.
During the Great Recession of 2009, both founders realized that they were writing for a limited audience, and have since made it their mission to educate citizens on financial literacy as a means to personal empowerment and informed decision making.
While other parts of Centsai are for adult learners, Centsai Education is created to drive financial confidence for younger learners at an earlier age so that they can jump into adulthood with tools that will follow them through retirement.
