Proximity Learning

According to Government Accountability Office (GAO) and recent news reports, more than three quarters of U.S. states are experiencing a teacher shortage in the wake of the pandemic. According to a GAO report published June 2022, public education lost an estimated 7% of its total teaching population (233,000 instructors) between 2019 and 2021. Proximity Learning partners with districts to solve teacher vacancies by livestreaming certified teachers, from all over the country, into classrooms for most subjects. Their solution enables students to receive a more equitable education by connecting them with expert teachers from anywhere, and Proximity Learning online instruction is always live. Students can interact with teachers, raise their hands, work in groups, and ask questions in real-time with a personal computer. “We’re dedicated to always-live instruction because we know it’s the best way to learn,” says a company representative. For these reasons and more, Proximity Learning earned Winner status for “Best E-learning, Blended, Flipped or Remote Solution” as part of The EdTech Awards 2023 from EdTech Digest. Learn more
